ON LAND is a landscape architecture practice dedicated to supporting the thriving of life. Every landscape should foster the flourishing of human and nonhuman species and relationships. No landscape is too small to be part of a great network that collectively promotes life on earth.

 

ON LAND believes that designed landscapes should be ecologically vibrant and beautiful. As part of nature and culture, landscapes can be sensual, poetic, expressive, and full of meaning.

 

At ON LAND, the design process is guided by an ethic of resourcefulness and care. Through observation, research, dialogue, and improvisation, we develop each project’s particular beauty, richness, and functionality. 

 

ON LAND is committed to landscape architecture as an activist practice working for a world that remains habitable by all. Alive and beautiful, the landscapes we design, use, and love should promote the relationships, sensibilities, and priorities we need for the best possible future.
